The Lake Providence Port is home to Myriant Technologies’ 392,000 square foot succinic acid production facility
It will be the world’s largest bio-based succinic acid plant, wedding agriculture (biomass), manufacturing, and biotech innovation to produce the succinic acid that serves as a building block in the green production of a variety of materials. The Myriant plant stands as a strong example of rural ecominc growth and job creation.

The Lake Providence Port if one of the top 20 U.S. inland ports and ships over 1.3 million tons annually. The Port is the largest inland port in Louisiana, and is the second leading Louisiana port in tonnage among the state’s network of inland and coastal ports. The port ranks third in operating revenue.
